Lump Sum Investment

A lump sum investment is a single, one-time purchase of mutual fund units, as opposed to regular SIP instalments.

How it works

You invest the full amount in one go - for example from a bonus, an FD maturity or sale proceeds. Units are allotted at the NAV applicable on the day your money is realised by the AMC, subject to the cut-off time.

Investing a large amount at once means your entire investment is exposed to the market level on that day. Some investors prefer to stagger the amount through an STP.

Before you invest

  • Check the minimum initial and additional purchase amounts in the SID / KIM
  • Read the scheme's riskometer and match it with your risk profile
  • Check the exit load if you may need the money soon

Frequently asked questions

What is the minimum lump sum amount?
