Purchase (Fresh & Additional)

A purchase is an investment into a mutual fund scheme. The first investment in a scheme creates a folio (fresh purchase); later investments in the same folio are additional purchases.

Fresh vs additional purchase

  • Fresh purchase - your first investment in an AMC; requires KYC, bank and nominee details, and creates a folio
  • Additional purchase - a further investment in an existing folio; usually needs only the folio number and payment

Which NAV will I get?

For purchases, units are allotted at the NAV of the day on which the application is received before the cut-off time and the funds are available for use by the AMC. If the money reaches the AMC after the cut-off, the next business day's NAV applies.

Ways to purchase

  • Through your distributor's transaction platform
  • Through MF Central, MF Utilities or the AMC's own website / app
  • Physical application form at an AMC or registrar (CAMS / KFintech) branch

Frequently asked questions

Can I pay in cash?
Mutual fund payments are made from your own bank account by cheque, NEFT/RTGS, UPI or mandate. Third-party payments are generally not accepted.
