How to redeem

• Online - through your distributor's platform, MF Central or the AMC website / app
• Offline - a signed redemption request at an AMC or registrar (CAMS / KFintech) service centre
• You can redeem by amount or by number of units, or redeem all units

What you receive

Units are redeemed at the NAV applicable for the day the request is received (subject to the cut-off time), less any exit load. Proceeds go only to the bank account registered in your folio.

SEBI requires fund houses to pay redemption proceeds within 3 working days of the redemption request; many schemes pay sooner. Some scheme categories that invest in less-liquid or overseas assets may have longer timelines notified by AMFI.

Points to keep in mind

• ELSS units have a 3-year lock-in and cannot be redeemed before that
• Pledged units (for a loan) must be released before redemption
• Redemption may trigger capital-gains tax

Can redemption money go to a different bank account?

No. It is paid only to a bank account registered in your folio. You can register additional bank accounts with the AMC in advance.
