Mutual Funds
Mutual funds give you professionally managed, diversified exposure to equities, bonds, gold and more - with as little as a few hundred rupees a month.
One investment, many opportunities
A mutual fund pools money from many investors and invests it according to a stated objective, such as large-company shares, government bonds or a mix of both. Each investor owns units whose value - the NAV - is published every business day. Mutual funds are regulated by SEBI, which sets rules on disclosure, costs and investor protection.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about mutual funds. Still have a question? We're happy to help.
What are the main types of mutual funds?
Equity funds invest in shares, debt funds in bonds and money-market instruments, hybrid funds in a mix, and solution-oriented funds such as retirement and children's funds target specific goals. Index funds and ETFs track a market index.
What is NAV?
Net Asset Value is the per-unit value of a fund, calculated by dividing the fund's net assets by the number of units outstanding. It is published every business day.
What is the difference between Regular and Direct plans?
Direct plans have a lower expense ratio because no distributor commission is paid. Regular plans include distributor commission and come with our guidance and service. We deal in Regular plans only.
What is an expense ratio?
The annual fee charged by the fund house to manage the scheme, expressed as a percentage of assets and already reflected in the NAV.
How are mutual fund gains taxed?
Taxation depends on the fund type and holding period. Equity and debt funds are taxed differently, and rules change from time to time - we explain the current treatment when you invest.
